Documents Required

1.  Duplicate RC (Registration Certificate) - 4W

Required Documents:
  • Application Form: Duly filled Form 26 (for duplicate RC)
  • Proof of Identity & Address: Aadhar, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, etc.
  • FIR / Affidavit: In case RC is lost/stolen, FIR or notarized affidavit stating loss/theft
  • Vehicle Insurance: Copy of valid insurance certificate
  • PUC Certificate: Valid Pollution Under Control certificate
  • Proof of Payment of Tax: Receipt of Road Tax payment (if applicable)
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): If the vehicle is financed and bank has hypothecation, NOC from financer

2. Hypothecation Termination (HPT) - 4W

Required Documents:
  • Application Form: Duly filled Form 28 (for HPT termination)
  • Original RC Book: Registration Certificate with financier’s hypothecation
  • Bank / Financier NOC: Original No Objection Certificate from the bank/financial institution confirming loan closure
  • Identity Proof: Owner’s identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, etc.)
  • Address Proof: Owner’s address proof (Aadhar, Passport, etc.)

Eligibility:

  • Renewal can typically be done before or after expiry (within grace period)
  • Required documents: Original RC, insurance certificate, PUC certificate, and ID proof of owner
  • Applicable to all privately or commercially owned 4-wheelers

Govt fees- (2021 MARCH) PENALTY 500 PER MONTH for 4 wheeler, 300 PER MONTH for 2 Wheeler.

RC service charges depend on the type of application, vehicle category, registration status and RTO requirements.

The final quotation may vary according to:

  • RC renewal or duplicate RC application.

  • Government fees, taxes, penalties or other applicable charges.

Important Note

  • RC renewal is subject to applicable motor vehicle rules and approval by the concerned registering authority.
  • For private non-transport vehicles, registration renewal is generally required after the initial 15-year registration period and subsequently at prescribed intervals, subject to applicable rules.
  • Renewal applications should generally be submitted no more than 60 days before the registration expiry date.
  • A duplicate RC may require Form 26 and additional documents. A police report or certificate may be required in case of loss or theft.
  • Valid insurance, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, tax clearance and fitness certificate may be required depending on the application and vehicle category.
  • Additional documents, vehicle inspection or an RTO visit may be necessary.
  • Government fees, taxes and penalties are separate unless specifically included in the quotation.
