Step-by-Step Process

• Identify the Road Authority: Confirm whether the road comes under BBMP/GBA, a municipal authority, Gram Panchayat, PWD or NHAI.
• Prepare Required Documents: Keep property details, applicant ID and address proof, building plan/approval if applicable, purpose of road cutting, location details and utility connection documents ready.
• Submit the Application: Apply through the relevant authority's online portal or submit the application to the concerned engineering office.
• Site Inspection: The concerned engineer verifies the location, road type, length and width of the proposed cutting.
• Fee Estimation: The authority calculates road-cutting and road-restoration charges and issues a demand notice.
• Pay the Fees: Pay the prescribed charges through the approved payment method.
• Receive Permission: Obtain the official permission before starting any excavation.
• Carry Out the Work: Complete the approved work within the permitted period, following safety requirements and the approved route.
• Restore the Road: Repair the cut portion as required by the authority.
• Final Inspection: The concerned engineer verifies the work and road restoration.
